Work begins on the new Community Hub

Construction on the new Community Hub at Kingsgrove will begin in April 2026.

When it’s complete, The Hub will be at the centre of life at Kingsgrove, with a multi-purpose hall, co-working spaces, cafĂ©, meeting rooms and outdoor gardens. It will be run by a dedicated company, the Kingsgrove Community Hub (KCH), and you can read more about the plans here: www.thehub.org.uk

Construction should take about 18 months, so we hope that The Hub, and all of the amenities it will offer to Kingsgrove residents, will be complete towards the end of 2027 and will be opened in early 2028.

Please note that during the construction period, the Public Square and adjacent parking spaces will be closed to provide dedicated contractor parking and site storage. The area will be safely fenced off, but pedestrians will still be able to walk along the pavement on Elder Way and Rutherford Road.

The contractor delivering the work is local builder Edgar Taylor, and there is a Construction Management Plan in place to minimise disruption, making sure vehicle movements, noise, and dust are effectively managed.
Any construction-related wear and tear to the Square will be resolved by the team. The five trees previously located in the Square have been carefully relocated to the Central Park, and five new trees will be planted once works are complete.

The team will provide regular updates on the construction of The Hub and remain available through the community email and phone line to answer any queries.
