Community spaces

To build a true community, St. Modwen recognises that people need spaces to meet and dwell. The Neighbourhood Centre at Kingsgrove will be a place to gather, celebrate and enjoy. The Centre comprises a community building, a central park, a sports pavilion, community gardens, play areas and a skate park.

The new woodland walk, playpark and public square opened at the end of 2021. The Community Hub will be run by Wantage Community Church and is in the planning stages. St. Modwen is also looking for submissions for local centre shops, restaurants and more.

In the meantime, St. Modwen is looking to install temporary uses for the area to make sure that those already living on site can use the space to greet, gather and relax. The first of these opened in spring 2022, when a café by Marcopolo bakery came to the public square.
