The Kingsgrove community came together for the official opening of the Kingsgrove Café on 23rd April. It is located on the public square, opposite Wantage Primary Academy, and is open 8.30am – 4pm, Tuesday to Saturday so make sure you bring your family and friends along. There is seating inside and tables outside for socialising and enjoying the summer sunshine.
Run by local favourites Marcopolo Bakery, the café serves a range of hot and cold drinks and sweet and savoury food. The food is handmade using local ingredients, serving a variety of options including a full English breakfast, toasted sandwiches, and freshly baked bread. Marcopolo Bakery was chosen to run the café after the team saw how successful they had been in Wantage town centre with their bakery, as well as in farm shops and at markets across Oxfordshire.
The St. Modwen team were pleased to see the Town Mayor of Wantage, the Leader of Oxfordshire Council and the local MP David Johnston come along to see the new addition to the Kingsgrove neighbourhood.
While the plans for the neighbourhood centre are still in the early stages, St. Modwen was keen to install the temporary café in the area to make sure that those already living at Kingsgrove can use the space to meet their neighbours, take their children for a snack after a visit to the playground or catch up with friends.
