We are now just a few years away from having a full neighbourhood centre at Kingsgrove. St. Modwen are pleased to announce that they have selected LSP Developments to deliver the local centre section.
LSP Developments has now officially submitted a planning application for the development of a local centre within Kingsgrove. The application includes plans for a children’s day nursery, convenience store and three retail units, all of which are expected to be completed within 15-18 months of a successful planning submission. We hope it will be determined by Vale of White Horse District Council in September 2023.
40 bicycle parking spaces will be provided to encourage sustainable travel around Kingsgrove, there will also be bike shelters positioned along the cycling route implemented at Kingsgrove. These form part of a wider strategy to promote sustainable transport, decreasing dependency on car travel and creating a cleaner environment for the community.
The local centre will also provide 49 car parking spaces which will include seven electric vehicle charging points, 14 designated specifically for the nursery and four parent-and-child drop-off points.
The wider neighbourhood centre at Kingsgrove will include the now well-used public square, care home under construction, and community building that is currently in for planning determination, in addition to the uses sought as part of this application.
Thomas Snell, Development Manager, at St. Modwen said: “It is very important to St. Modwen to bring forward community areas as early in development as possible. The submission of this application is a significant step forward, and we are excited about the services it will provide for both new and existing residents.”
The retail units and the convenience store do not yet have confirmed operators. LSP Developments are currently in discussions with interested parties and will hopefully be in a position to share who these parties will be later in the year.
