Keeping Kingsgrove’s roads safe

Keeping Kingsgrove’s roads safe

Over the last few months, we’ve been made aware of vehicles parking on the pavements, cycle lanes, and roads around Kingsgrove. We’d like to thank those of you who have emailed us to let us know of the issues primarily affecting Elder Way, Rutherford Road and Primrose Avenue.

As the bus route runs along these roads, it is challenging for buses and other large vehicles to drive safely when cars are parked on both sides. Blocking roads and pavements may also cause accessibility issues for wheelchair users, cyclists, and to residents parked within their own bays.

While we understand most residents park properly, we have made the decision to bring in a parking control management company to enforce the ‘no parking zones’ along these routes for residents’ safety. This will also apply to any workers and contractors across the site, who have their own designated parking.

The parking control company will be writing to homes shortly to explain what will happen next, including the installation of parking control signage and any other potential options.

The service charge for residents would not be affected with the introduction of the parking control management company. At the moment these roads are privately owned by St. Modwen. They will be offered for adoption by Oxfordshire County Council in the future who may bring in their own parking control measures.
