On 30th November Wantage Community Church and Wantage Silver Band treated residents to a carol concert to celebrate turning on the Christmas tree lights. Over 150 people soaked up the festive spirit, enjoying mince pies, mulled wine and hot chocolate while joining the choir for carols around the tree.
Kingsgrove Resident Polly Zaluzny kicked things off by singing the first verse of Once in Royal David’s City, with children from Wantage Primary Academy singing solos, reading a poem and switching on the lights of the Kingsgrove Christmas tree. Thank you everyone who helped organise the event and everyone who came along and made it such a success.
Our next festive event is on 16th December at the public square, where we will be handing out a Christmas Trail map to explore the new woodland walk, children will be able to enjoy the newly opened playpark, there will be stalls and activities and most importantly Santa will be there!
